Extreme Ironing (EI)

May 21st 2010 07:11
Extreme Ironing (or EI) is an extreme sport where participants take an ironing board to a remote location and iron items of clothing. It is the latest danger sport that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well-pressed shirt.

Some locations where such performances have taken place include a mountainside of a difficult climb, a forest, in a canoe, while skiing or snowboarding, on top of large bronze statues, in the middle of a street, underwater, whilst parachuting, under the ice cover of a lake and many more.

See below some of the sport’s greatest athletes, for more visit the official site here.

Bacteria are vital for the survival of life on earth especially in the recycling of nutrients.

Unattended Children Signs

May 12th 2010 04:53
"Unattended Children" warning signs sometimes seem to have no effect as parents let there kids run riot regardless.
Do you think signs like these will have any more impact?
Probably not, but they're funny to look at anyway

No Parking Signs

May 10th 2010 04:29
Scientific evidence suggests that a little humour in a no parking sign will make people 65% more likely to obey it.
OK I made that statistic up, but it certainly lightens the mood of the otherwise dreary task of locating a parking spot!

The Numbers Behind Bacon

May 3rd 2010 01:30
Business Week called bacon “the most politically incorrect food in the culinary world”. The Talmud and Koran prohibit eating bacon (or at least bacon made from pork) and we all know that it is loaded with animal fat, nitrates and salt. But it tastes so good! Despite the many health conscious messages and healthier food options on menus these days, consumption of bacon continues to rise.

So how much bacon is consumed in the modern world anyway? What percentage of households have bacon and how many pigs sacrifice themselves to feed our obsession with the delicious crispy
