Do You Need To Be Connected To The Internet To Download Something?

Is this the stupidest question ever asked on an internet forum?



Do you need the internet to download something? I'm currently downloading maple and I was wondering if I disconnect myself from the internet, will it still download? It's like 7% done and I need to take my laptop somewhere. Will it still download?

sadly on yahoo answers this is the standard

people often even ask if they have to leave their computer on when downloading

i'm wandering if there's a desease spreanding that affects mental capabilityes
